Thailand The Land of Smiles

Thailand has been on my 'wish list' for a long time so I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to discover this contrasting country.

First stop Bangkok with its high rise buildings and fast pace of life it didn't disappoint. In 2 days I managed to take in a full day sightseeing excursion taking in the Temple of The Golden Buddha , The Grand Palace and the flower market. There are over 40,000 temples in Bangkok. The next day its shop till you drop and pick up some great bargains at one of the many malls and be prepared to barter especially at the night market in Patpong which was busy and bustling.

Patpong may not be for everyone but it is a fun place to experience especially at night - Pick up a Tiger beer and enjoy the people watching then take a Tuk Tuk back to your hotel and hang on for dear life!

My next stop could not have been more different as I took a flight to Phuket then a 2 hour jeep transfer to Elephant Hills for my jungle experience. On arrival time to relax in my hammock outside my luxury tent , then off to see the elephants which are resident here. This truly is a full inter-action experience where you can feed , touch and wash the elephants down after they roll in the mud - A truly hands on experience.

My final stop was to Khao Lak on The Andaman Peninsula. This resort is ideal for relaxation after the hustle and bustle of Bangkok  it has pristine white beaches which stretch for miles. If you are still feeling energetic you could take a trek around the National Park. I think I'll just enjoy my cocktail by the stunning pool at Le Meridian Hotel!

I cannot wait to venture back to 'The Land of Smiles'
